PONDA The Parents in Ponda panicked after a message on social media about the kidnapping of school children went viral.
The message read, “since past three to four days after message of 4 school children were kidnapped by kidnappers while playing and going to school and that certain groups are involved in the locality in abducting of children.”
The message also alerted the people to take care of ward and while dropping them to school.
Following this message, parents in Ponda panicked and worried for the safety of their children, and a few also rushed to schools.
Reacting to the viral message Ponda PI Vijaykumar said that it was a fake message circulated on social media and that the kidnapping case was reported at Ponda Police Station.
He urged people to take care of their children but not to panic about fake messages before confirming with the police.
After Police clarification, Pondaitees heave a sigh of relief. However, following this, the parent demanded CCTV cameras at school gates to keep a vigil on anti-social elements for the safety of children.
