Though Virtual Assembly session is being talked and spoken about, it is not practical, said Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar.
Speaking to reporters, after the meeting, Patnekar said that, the idea of visual assembly has been floated but there are several issues in that.
“All that I can say is it is impractical,” said Patnekar.
Talking about full budget being passed in one day assembly, Patnekar says that the ]Kerala and Delhi have taken and passed budget.
“Goa is a smaller assembly and it can be done here too. All topics cannot be discussed in one day,” he said referring to the Oppositions demand for three main issues of pandemic, environment and financial status.
Further, Patnekar said that the Assembly has taken all precautions to maintain social distancing and smooth functioning during the pandemic.
“We will take measures and there will be no visitors allowed. There will be no serving food for MLAs besides Police numbers will also be restricted to reduce rush. Also less number of officers will be allowed for Question hour,” he said.
