MARGAO: Fatorda Police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly assaulting a woman and her family members following a quarrel in Gogol, Margao.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Safiya Bi Shaikh, who reported that the incident occurred around 6:30 pm on April 17 outside her residence. The accused, identified as Ashraf Jahan and Maaz Ali, both residents of Gogol, allegedly picked up a quarrel with the complainant and verbally abused her.
Police said the accused then assaulted the complainant with slaps and also attacked her brother-in-law and mother-in-law during the altercation. It is further alleged that one of the accused used a sharp object to strike the complainant on her right wrist, causing bleeding cut injuries.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ramrai Naik of Fatorda Police Station.
