MARGAO: A 29-year-old woman from Davorlim died due to electrocution at her residence on April 19, police said.
According to information received at around 6.04 pm from casualty police at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, the victim, identified as Reshma Salim Nadaf, was brought dead from Davorlim.
Police visited the hospital and conducted enquiries, which revealed that the incident occurred while the deceased was handling an electric heater rod at her residence near Maruti Mandir. She reportedly suffered a fatal electric shock during the process.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. The police surgeon, after conducting the autopsy, opined that the findings were consistent with electrocution. However, viscera samples have been preserved for chemical analysis to ascertain the exact cause.
The body was later handed over to the family for final religious rites.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Praful Giri of Margao Town Police Station.
