PONDA: Public Works Department (PWD) has said that the work on 15 MLD sewarage treatment plant for Ponda city is in final stages and is likely to be operational by January 25, 2022.
“The work on 15 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant for Ponda City is in the final stage of completion and it is likely to be operational by 25 January,” said PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar.
He further said that the work on ramp/approach road to the new Khandepar bridge work would begin in the next fifteen days.
The STP Official Pradeep Gaude said that almost 95 percent works have been completed as of now.
Recently the Ponda Citizen Group had confronted and grilled the authorities for the slow pace of work for the past five years which has caused hardship to the citizens on account of the worst road condition due to digging for sewerage work.
However the officials claimed that the work was pending since last one year on account of basalt rock formation found on the underground network.
The sewerage officials in a letter to Citizen Group Ponda had given a schedule for completion of pending work. According to this schedule the work on sewerage network at Indira Market and Varkhandem, Khadpaband, Civil Court to PWD Office Daag will be completed by end of December 2021 while the work from Saraswati Temple Daag to Kapileshwari Junction near Sewerage Plant would be completed by end of January.
