PORVORIM: Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte today urges the people of Porvorim not to panic as the work on Gurim-Porvorim flyover will start only after holding a review meeting with the chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
Khaunte was briefing the media after the monsoon preparedness meeting.
“The work on the flyover will start only after all the directions given by the CM are abided. The inputs of local panchayats will also be taken,” said Khaunte.
He further said that being prepared is An Essential Advantage as we conduct Pre-Monsoon Protocol Review for Effective Communication and Coordination between Disaster Management Cells of multiple Depts and Panchayat Members of Socorro, Penha De Franca & Salvador Do Mundo in Porvorim.
“Traffic police are advised against stopping the vehicles and challenging them on the Porvorim stretch from Guirim to Mandovi Bridges,” he added.
Khaunte said that the traffic is always blocked in this stretch and traffic police stopping the vehicles makes matters worse.
