ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered a case against a Goa resident for allegedly forging a lease termination document and misappropriating funds belonging to a firm, causing an estimated loss of ₹3.5 lakh.
According to police, the case was registered on August 29, 2026, at 9.30 pm based on a complaint filed by Ishan Thakur, 38, a resident of Assagao, Bardez.
The complainant alleged that on August 3, 2026, at TKN, Siolim, the accused, identified as Gaurav Bakshi, allegedly forged a document purporting to be a Termination of Lease Deed dated September 26, 2024.
Police said the allegedly forged document was subsequently produced before the competent authorities.
According to the complaint, the accused thereafter allegedly dishonestly misappropriated funds belonging to the firm styled as HelpdesQ and caused unauthorised withdrawal and transfer of the funds without the knowledge or consent of the complainant.
The alleged actions resulted in wrongful loss to the complainant and the firm, while the accused allegedly gained wrongfully, causing an estimated financial loss of ₹3,50,000.
Anjuna Police Station has registered Crime No. 90/2026 under Sections 316(2), 318(4) and 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The investigation has been taken up by PSI Viraj Naik of Anjuna Police Station.
