PANAJI: The Goa Congress leadership faces a fresh organisational challenge ahead of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s scheduled meeting with party leaders, with 108 Congress-appointed Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) submitting resignation letters.
The resignations were submitted to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Goa, and seek withdrawal of the agents’ authorisation as BLA-2s with immediate effect. Copies of the resignation letters have also been addressed to the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.
The documents, dated August 16, come at a politically significant time as Kharge is scheduled to meet Congress leaders in Goa amid growing concerns over the party’s organisational preparedness and internal coordination ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
One of the submitted letters specifically states that 108 BLA-2 resignation forms are being submitted from different polling booths across Goa. The resignation documents have been received by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Panaji.
The development is likely to come under scrutiny during Kharge’s interactions with the state leadership, particularly as booth-level organisation is critical to the Congress campaign and electoral mobilisation.
