MERCES: Two persons have been arrested by Old Goa Police for trying to dupe a lady from Old Goa on the pretext of polishing her gold ornaments.
The accused are identified as 37-year-old Vikram Bhagat from Delhi and 31-year-old Mohammad Feroz from Bihar.
The duo approached a lady from Kumbharwado, Merces yesterday afternoon on the pretext of polishing utensils.
After doing that they asked her if she wanted to polish her gold items. She asked them to polish two of her gold items but was suspicious of the manner in which they were doing it.
She raised an alarm following which locals nabbed one of the accused while the other person fled with the ladies gold chain. He was nabbed by the police later.
