MARGAO: Konkan Railway Police arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly possessing 379 grams of ganja during a raid at Madgaon Railway Station.
According to police, acting on specific information, a team led by PSI Roosevelt Fernandes, along with police personnel Vasim Shaikh, Wasim Shaikh and Aakash Singh, conducted a raid at Platform No. 2 of the railway station on July 14, 2026.
During the operation, the team apprehended the accused, identified as Aman Sikarwar, a resident of Nikhil Vihar Colony, Kheria Mod, Agra Cantt, Uttar Pradesh. Police allegedly recovered 379 grams of ganja, valued at approximately ₹37,900, from his possession. The contraband and other articles were seized under a search and seizure panchanama.
A case has been registered at Konkan Railway Police Station under Crime No. 36/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SP Shekhar Prabhudessai, DySP Hiru Kavlekar and PI Vikram Naik of Konkan Railway Police Station, Margao.
