PANAJI: Goa Police today said that Suchana Seth, mother who killed her 4-year-old son has been booked for murder and also under Goa Children’s Act.
Addressing the media, SP North Goa Nidhin Valsan said that the accused has been brought to Goa and will be produced before the court soon.
“Suchana Seth, mother who killed her 4-year-old son has been booked for murder and also under Goa Children’s Act,” said SP
He further said that police were alerted by the hotel staff soon after and a taxi driver confirmed that the woman was indeed travelling alone. Following this, the police arrested the woman and the child’s body was discovered.
“Goa Police coordinated with the staff of the Goa Hotel where the woman was staying and Karnataka Police, to track down the CEO and then make an arrest,” he added.
SP Valsan said that she had arrived in Goa with her son by flight on January 6 but wanted to check out in two days only.
“The lady was in a lot of hurry and had requested the hotel staff to book a taxi for her to Bengaluru. The receptionist advised her to travel by flight as it would be cheaper and take lesser time but she insisted on road travel,” SP said.
Valsan said that on the CEO’s insistence, the receptionist booked a taxi and the former left with a briefcase. After her leaving, the room boy entered the room she was living in and noticed blood-stained pieces of cloth on the floor.
“This made the hotel staff realise that the woman had come with her son but left alone; they immediately informed the police,” he added.
Meanwhile, SP said that the family members have been alerted and they are on their way to Goa.
