Panaji: Panaji Police have arrested 40-year-old Sathish Subramanian from Tamil Nadu for allegedly vandalising a religious cross situated near the Portuguese Consulate on Fr. Agnelo Road, Altinho.
The act was recorded by CCTV cameras, which captured the unidentified man damaging the religious symbol.
Following his arrest, Sathish was produced before the court and subsequently referred to the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB) for evaluation due to suspected mental illness.
The police investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to understand the motives behind the vandalism and ensure community safety.
