MOLLEM: Collem Police have launched an investigation after around 4,000 kilograms of beef transported from Karnataka was found abandoned in a private property at Mollem, Dharbandora.
According to a complaint lodged by Dr. Vrishabha Naik, Veterinary Officer at the Veterinary Dispensary, Mollem, the consignment was discovered on October 12, 2025, in an unrefrigerated and unhygienic condition, rendering the meat unfit for human consumption.
The unidentified accused reportedly transported the beef illegally across the border and abandoned the vehicle after entering Goa.
Collem Police have registered a case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sandeep Nimbalkar.
