MAINA: After allegedly molesting a 2-year-old girl from the same village, a 45-year-old man from Salcete has been charged with rape.
The mother of the victim filed a complaint with the Maina-Curtorim police in August, and the police then filed a chargesheet in the case.
The victim’s neighbour, the accused, was taken into custody and placed under judicial supervision. Right now, he is being housed at Colvale Jail.
The victim’s physical state is stable, according to police sources, and a medical assessment has been carried out.
