PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that all 72,000 children between the age of 15-17 years will be vaccinated with first dose in the coming 3-4 days.
Rane also said that strict vigilance will be kept on Goa borders in view of rising COVID-19 cases.
“All 72,000 children will be vaccinated in the age group of 15-17 years will be vaccinated in the next 3 to 4 days, we are very serious about this matter,” said Rane
Rane attended the virtual meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandviya to review COVID-19 Pandemic Response and Vaccination plan.
He further said that state has already received the required doses for this category and the entire DHS team is full ready to vaccinate the children.
HM Rane said that state government is serious on the rising cases of COVID and is working towards flattering the COVID curve in the state.
“We have asked authorities to keep a strict vigil on Goa borders in view of the rising COVID cases,” he added
Speaking on testing of Omicron samples, HM Rane said that the genome sequencing machine will be set up within the next 15 days in Goa and that will put up an end on the state sending samples to overloaded NIV lab in Pune.
Meanwhile, Rane said that a cruise ship with 2000 passengers has not allowed to dock until the entire testing is completed.
“We will not allow the passengers to embark into Goa without testing,” he added
