Panaji: The Village Panchayat of Candolim has resumed its football academy programme for the new season, attracting registrations from more than 150 young footballers from the village.
The initiative, led by Sarpanch Blaize Fernandes in association with Super 30 Football Academy, provides completely free football coaching to children from Candolim, ensuring that aspiring players have access to quality sports training.
The programme focuses on strengthening grassroots football by offering structured training, professional coaching and opportunities for young players to develop their skills. It also aims to instil discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship while creating a strong foundation for their future in the game.
Super 30 Football Academy oversees the technical training and football development programme, helping young participants improve their abilities and prepare for opportunities to progress to higher levels of competition.
The registration of over 150 children reflects the growing enthusiasm for football in Candolim and highlights the importance of providing accessible sporting opportunities to youngsters. By making coaching completely free, the initiative seeks to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent children from pursuing their passion for football.
The resumption of the programme marks another step towards promoting football at the grassroots level and encouraging greater participation in sports among the village’s youth.
Through their continued association, the Village Panchayat of Candolim and Super 30 Football Academy aim to identify and nurture emerging talent while contributing to the development of the next generation of Goan footballers.
The initiative also underlines the role of local institutions and football academies in building a stronger sporting culture by providing young players with the training, guidance and encouragement needed to develop their potential.
