82% of samples sent for genome sequencing test positive for delta variant

PANAJI: Health Department has said 82 percent of the latest lot of samples sent for genome sequencing have tested positive for delta variant of COVID-19.

As per Information, Of the 23 more covid patient samples sent for genomic sequencing outside Goa, 19 i.e. nearly 82 % have been found positive for Delta variant.

CM Sawant today chaired the task force meeting to discuss the precautions to be taken in the scenario of a 3rd wave of covid and also reviewed the vaccination programme.

As per Union Ministry of Health, total 14,72,747 vaccines have been administered in the state and total 3,47,163 are fully vaccinated with both jabs.

Earlier in the day, Sawant also chaired meeting with IAS officers to Government of Goa and took stock of the progress of the Swyampurna Goa initiative and execution of the initiatives announced in the state budget.
