PORVORIM: The investigation into the firing targeting Casino Group Director Srinivas Nayak continued late Friday night, with police and forensic teams examining and reconstructing the scene outside Majestic Paradise in Porvorim.
The forensic team recovered bullet shells from the spot during the examination as investigators worked to piece together the sequence of events surrounding the shooting.
The firing took place just around 50 metres from a police station, raising concerns over the brazen nature of the attack. Police teams carried out a detailed assessment of the area and recreated the sequence of events as part of the investigation.
After the reconstruction and initial assessment were completed, Nayak was seen entering the hotel and was reported to be safe.
North Goa SP Harishchandra Madkaikar said the investigation is underway. Police are examining the evidence collected from the scene and other available inputs to establish the circumstances surrounding the firing and trace those responsible.
