PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the state cabinet has granted approval to the summoning of one week Assembly session starting March 27.
CM Sawant was addressing the media after holding the cabinet meeting at Porvorim.
“It will be one session and will be held from March. The cabinet has accorded approval for the same,” said CM Sawant.
Again, the session will be a short duration, one week from March 27, leaving the Sawant-led government susceptible to a critical onslaught from Opposition parties.
Earlier last month, the winter session was held, which again was of just four days duration from January 16 to 19.
Sawant presented the state budget for 2022-23 in the legislative assembly with a focus on the revival of mining and rebooting of the economy with no new taxes.
The budgeted expenditure is around 16% higher than what was projected during the budget presented last year.
