CANACONA: Several residents of Palolem on Friday received heavily infested, filthy and muddy portable Water-supply as the angry residents marched to question and later brought the PWD officials for site inspection.
On observing the heavily mud-infested water running in the residential taps, the Officials, including PWD (Water-supply) AE Lester D’souza, regretted the muddy Water Supply as a ‘Wash-Out’ accidentally released/entering the distribution lines of residential taps.
‘We have now found the dead-end, and accordingly needful is done. Now, no more muddy water will come in any supply lines, anywhere’, informed a PWD Officer in the presence of Congress General Secretary Janardhan Bhandari.
Earlier in the day, when residents of Palolem one after the other began to report about the filthy, muddy potable water supply, Bhandari immediately swung into action and reported the same to the PWD (Water-supply) Engineer, and personally reached Palolem to witness the shocking supply of water to nearly 15 households.
Bhandari, along with some residents, visited the PWD AE, apprised the officers and sought their presence for physical verification at the site.
‘The matter is taken up by the officers and is now under immediate rectification’, informed Bhandari.
Besides, Congress Block Youth President Vaishnav Pednekar congress block minority cell president Gaspar Coutinho were also present, amongst others.
