Adeep Kuncalienkar tops Physics with 61 marks Atharva tops Chemistry with 70 marks Hemanshunu gets 71 in Maths

PORVORIM: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) today announced the results of the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2023.
Adeep Kuncalienkar has the highest Physics score of 61 out of 75. Atharva Vijay Naik’s highest Chemistry score of 70, and Hemanshunu Neenad Dessai’s highest math score of 71.
As per DTE, the average marks in Physics were 22.68, Chemistry 27.97 and Mathematics 27.77.
Secretary Education Prasad Lolyekar said that admissions to engineering colleges in Goa will no longer be based on the Goa Common Entrance Test as GCET will not be conducted from 2024-25.
“GCET will not be conducted from the academic year 2024-25. Admissions to BE (Engineering) degree courses in the State of Goa for the academic year 2024-25 will be carried out based on JEE Main 2024 scores”, states the DTE notice.
It also said admissions to B. Pharm (Pharmacy) Degree courses in Goa for the academic year 2024-25 will be carried out on the basis of best aggregate percentile marks scored in Physics and Chemistry subjects at either NEET or JEE Main conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in 2024 scores.
The GCET was held on May 14-15 across 16 centres. The GCET is held for admissions to engineering and pharmacy degree programme seats in the State.
Meanwhile, the DTE has announced that the application forms for admissions to First Year and Second Year of Diploma courses for the year 2023-24 will be available from May 17 to 26.
