PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the Chief Minister Financial Assistance for LPG Cylinder Refilling Scheme 2023, at a function held at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall in the city on Friday.
This initiative, organized by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, marks a significant step towards ensuring affordable access to LPG cylinders for the residents of Goa.
Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly subsidy of ₹275 on LPG cylinder refills, as announced by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. Furthermore he also announced that sugar will be provided at subsidized rates to all the beneficiaries.
The government’s dedication to the “Antyodaya” principle underscores its commitment in delivering essential schemes and services directly to the people, he added.
Union Minister of State for Tourism, Shri Shripad Naik, emphasized the government’s endeavours in accelerating women empowerment through such initiatives. He expressed confidence that the Chief Minister Financial Assistance for LPG Cylinder Refilling Scheme 2023 would significantly contribute in improving the lives of women in Goa.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant handed over sanction letters to 60 beneficiaries from various talukas.
Ravi Naik, Minister for Civil Supplies; Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Secretary, Civil Supplies; Shri Gopal Parsekar, Director, Civil Supplies, and beneficiaries from both North and South Goa district were present on the occasion.
The program was compered by Pradeep Naik, while Shri Gopal Parsekar, Director, Civil Supplies, proposed vote of thanks.
