PANAJI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted the Goa Alliance Committee to coordinate with alliance partners in preparation for the 2026 Goa Assembly elections.
According to a statement issued by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, the committee has been approved by Congress President and will take immediate effect. The decision was announced by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, MP.
The committee will be headed by Manickrao Thakare as Chairman. Other members include Girish Chodankar, Yuri Alemao, Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, Capt. Viriato Fernandes, and M.K. Shaikh.
The panel has been entrusted with coordinating with alliance partners and ensuring effective cooperation and strategic planning ahead of the Assembly elections.
The Congress said the formation of the committee reflects the party’s commitment to strengthening opposition unity and building a broad-based alliance to offer the people of Goa a credible, stable and people-centric alternative in the upcoming Assembly polls.
