Aam Aadmi Party Cortalim candidate Alina Saldanha have written a letter to the PWD to request an early intervention to alleviate the water woes of Zuarinagar’s residents.
The residents of Zuarinagar have been suffering from water shortage for the last six months. After enduring the water problems for six months, the situation has worsened dramatically for them over the past month. And in the last week, the taps have gone dry.
Saldanha said, “I have written a letter to the executive engineer’s office of the PWD asking him to look into the problem with the water supply in the Lamani colony at Zuarinagar. The residents of Lamani colony have been living without water for the last 10-12 days. I requested the officer to inspect the site and identify the reason for the lack of water”.
Adding she said, “In addition, I requested he provide water through tankers until things are streamlined. Because water is a basic amenity without which no human being can survive. Consequently, it is unfair to residents of the Lamany colony to go so long without water”.
Further, she said, “I have previously written three-four letters to PWD water division regarding water woes in Zuarinagar in order to secure permanent solutions for the problem. We are on the verge of going to the polls. If I am elected, I will find a permanent solution to the water woes of the residents of Cortalim”.
