MANDREM: A statue of Dr B. R. Ambedkar was inaugurated at Chopde Circle in Mandrem in a well-attended function on Tuesday, with Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar leading the ceremony.
The event drew local residents, community representatives, and public officials, who gathered to pay tribute to Ambedkar’s contributions to the Indian Constitution and his lifelong advocacy for social justice and equality.
Addressing the gathering, Arolkar said Ambedkar’s ideals remain highly relevant in contemporary society and should continue to guide governance and public life. He noted that the installation of the statue is not merely symbolic but serves as a reminder to uphold constitutional values.
The MLA highlighted that development initiatives in the constituency are being undertaken with a focus on inclusivity, ensuring benefits reach all sections of society. He added that honouring Ambedkar’s legacy requires sustained efforts to promote equal opportunities and dignity for all citizens.
