CANACONA: Amid concerns over the spike in Dengue cases in Palolem, the Canacona Congress Block Committee conducted a Health Awareness Drive Programme in Palolem under the jurisdiction of the Canacona Municipal Council. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Health Services team of Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC).
According to reports, two new Dengue cases have been identified in Palolem recently. This marks the beginning of a series of similar Awareness camps planned to be organized by the Congress Team, in partnership with the Health Team of Canacona, in the remaining Municipal Areas and all 6 panchayats of Canacona Constituency, as shared by Congress (South) General Secretary (Organization) Gaspar Coutinho.
The Canacona Congress team, alongside the Health Services team, engaged in a door-to-door campaign to educate households about the increasing instances of Dengue and Malaria in the taluka. They advised residents not to allow water to stagnate in any form for more than a day, emphasizing that even small amounts of stagnant water could lead to mosquito breeding, potentially causing Dengue and Malaria.
Canacona Block Congress Mahila President Mrs. Ursula Costa expressed gratitude towards the Canacona health team for their dedicated efforts and cooperation with the Congress workers in addressing the health concerns of the people. She particularly thanked the Health Team led by Dr. Divakarji Velip, Sanitary officer Pranay Naik, Brother Jitendra, and the rest of the team for their support.
The event was also attended by representatives including Jawahar Bal Manch-Mrs. Plaza Coutinho, Co-ordinator for Canacona Janval Fernandes, Member of Canacona Congress Block Committee Rosario Fernandes, and various other members of the Canacona Congress Block Committee.
