ASSAGAO: Anjuna Police caught a 50-year-old man allegedly conducting gambling activities in an open public place near Raya Resort, Assagao, on August 20.
According to the state complaint filed by HC-4812 Rajan Laxman Patil of Anjuna Police Station, the incident took place between 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
The accused was identified as Sanjay Salgaonkar, 50, a resident of Munnagwado, Assagao.
Police alleged that Sanjay was caught red-handed while conducting gambling activities at the location. During the action, police seized ₹1,810 in cash along with other articles allegedly used for gambling.
The accused was arrested at around 9.16 pm and was released on the same day at 9.22 pm.
Further proceedings in the case are being handled by HC-4812 Rajan Laxman Patil of Anjuna Police Station.
