The accused has been identified as Hasan (38), son of Mechher Ali, residing at Old Aradi, Candolim. According to Calangute Police, Hasan was caught red-handed between 1:20 pm and 3:00 pm while accepting bets from locals on numerical digit gambling. Police said that the man was noticed by locals around 7:35 pm, following which PCR Panaji alerted the authorities. Team Goemkarponn MARGAO: A 36-year-old labourer from Uttar Pradesh was found lying unconscious near Railway Station Road, Margao, on Sunday night and was later declared brought dead at South Goa District Hospital. Police identified the deceased as Avdhesh Nath, who was reportedly a chronic alcoholic and employed as a labourer in Margao.
