BETALBATIM: A case has been registered against two persons following a complaint filed by a senior citizen alleging assault, intimidation and verbal abuse at Betalbatim in South Goa.
According to the complaint lodged by Crisostomo Mariano Soares, a resident of Mollanguinim, Cuncolim, the incident allegedly took place before 4:00 pm on July 9, 2026, near Martin’s Corner in Betalbatim.
Based on the complaint, police registered FIR No. 58/2026 against Isidoreo Souza and Irene Gonzalves, both residents of Betalbatim.
The FIR has been registered under Sections 115, 126, 127, 352 and 351(3) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 24 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
