CURTORIM: A 69-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Agxem, Curtorim, on Friday afternoon.
According to police, information about the incident was received at around 2.48 pm on July 10, following which officers rushed to the spot. The deceased was identified as Conceicao Simon Paes, a resident of Agxem, Curtorim. He was found hanging from a nylon rope tied to the door frame inside his house.
He was shifted to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, where the on-duty doctor declared him brought dead.
During the preliminary enquiry, police learnt that the deceased had been suffering from heart disease and had recently suffered a stroke. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officers conducted the scene of occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
