Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully evacuated two critically injured seafarers from a merchant vessel off the Goa coast in a swift medical evacuation operation. The injured crew members were identified as 37-year-old Georgian national Jismsher Davitaze and 34-year-old Indian national Arun Babu Varukattu. Both were serving aboard the Panama-flagged merchant vessel MT Hawks Liberty, which was on passage from Malé. According to Margao Town Police, information was received at around 6:30 pm from the Casualty Police at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, that Shubham Nistani had been brought dead after being found at his residence. Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: In a day of swift and coordinated rescue operations, Drishti Marine lifesavers rescued 24 fishermen after two fishing canoes capsized in separate incidents off Colva and Benaulim beaches on Tuesday. The first incident occurred off Colva beach on Tuesday afternoon when a fishing canoe carrying 15 fishermen overturned in rough sea conditions. Drishti Marine immediately deployed lifesavers and jet skis to the spot.
