Team Goemkarponn DELHI: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has introduced a revised framework for classifying hotels and resorts based on their pollution potential, with the latest norms taking into account both the size of the establishment and the use of environmentally friendly technologies. Under the updated classification, hotels and resorts with more than 300 rooms will continue to be placed in the Red category, reflecting the highest pollution potential with a Pollution Index (PI) of 81.25. Team Goemkarponn PANAJI: Goa has been allocated more than ₹258 crore under various Union tourism schemes over the past two years, with the funding earmarked for projects ranging from beach and ecotourism development to heritage conservation and public infrastructure. The allocations form part of a nationwide programme under which the Union Ministry of Tourism has approved 117 projects worth ₹5,756.62 crore to improve tourism infrastructure, create better visitor amenities and promote destinations across India.
