The High Court of Bombay at Goa in its recent order had directed Kavlem Panchayat to demolish the seven illegal scrapyards at Dhavalim within three months. Based on complaint by locals, Kavlem Panchayat had conducted inspection of seven illegal scrapyards in Survey No 26/1 in 2017 which were given on rent for commercial purpose. The date of August 31 had been stated in an earlier decree.
