In a tragic development, three personnel of Electricity department were killed on the spot and atleast four critically injured as the department’s truck carrying electricity poles, overturned at Borim circle. As per information, the truck was carrying poles from Margao to Marcel. Three persons dead were trapped under the truck and the bodies were removed after a crane was pressed into service. In a major development, the side wall of the tunnel of Konkan Railway route near Pernem station collapsed, which has led to either trains being cancelled or diverted. Konkan railway officials said the tunnel, located between Madure station in Maharashtra and Pernem station in Goa, collapsed in the wee hours on Thursday at 2.50 am.
