Karnataka Water Resources Minister (WRD) Ramesh Jarakiholi today has refuted allegations made by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that Karnataka diverted waters of Mahadayi river illegally, leading to depletion of the river’s water table. Daring Sawant to prove his claims, Jarkiholi said that he would quit as a minister if the allegations were true. Jarkiholi also said that Sawant’s claims were merely for political gain. We have not violated the law. Goa CM invite you. I will resign if his allegations are made, he said.

CUNCOLIM: In a major breakthrough cuncolim police arrested a security guard namely lakshi Basumatary (45) n/o Assam from Margao railway station for committing murder of fellow security guard siddharamayya Rachayye Wandal (66) deployed at Boat craft company at IDC cuncolim on the intervening night of 23 and 24 November 2020. Accused has confessed to have committed the crime and cuncolim police has recovered the weapon of assault, an iron pipe, at the instance of accused person. As per PI Jivba Dalvi reliable information was received regarding one Austrian National involved in illegal drug activities.
