PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced six guarantees for Goa while addressing a public meeting in Panaji, outlining a series of promises focused on household relief, women’s welfare, public transport and village-level development ahead of the elections.
The guarantees include free 24×7 electricity for domestic consumers, monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 for every woman in a family, and ₹10 lakh insurance cover for every family.
Kejriwal also promised to scrap Section 39A within a month, provide free bus travel for all women and establish sports grounds in every village.
The announcements form part of AAP’s campaign pitch in Goa, with the party highlighting welfare measures and local development as key priorities.
AAP Goa president Valmiki Naik said the Congress could not provide an alternative to the BJP, claiming that voting for Congress would eventually bring the BJP to power.
Naik asserted that AAP was the only party focused on people’s development and welfare. He further claimed that the party’s two MLAs had carried out more work in their constituencies than legislators who had defected.
In his remarks in Konkani, Naik urged people to think calmly and avoid making the wrong decision out of anger. He said voters now had an alternative to consider.
AAP leader Venzy Viegas said political defections should not be mistaken for achievement, stressing that performance and public service mattered more than switching parties.
“Leaving the party does not mean one has delivered; one must demonstrate work,” Viegas said, citing AAP’s work in Punjab and Delhi as examples.
