MARGAO: The Office of the Deputy Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate-I, Margao, has invited owners to submit claims for unclaimed vehicles lying for a prolonged period within the jurisdiction of the Traffic Cell, Margao, Salcete.
According to an official press note issued on Tuesday, the abandoned vehicles have been causing obstruction, inconvenience and potential hazards to the public.
Vehicle owners have been asked to submit their claims along with supporting documentary evidence to the Office of the Deputy Collector and SDM-I, Margao, within six months from the date of publication of the notice.
The authorities have stated that if no claims or objections are received within the stipulated period, the vehicles will be forfeited in favour of the State Government and disposed of through a public auction or any other mode approved under law. No further claims will be entertained thereafter, and the proceeds from the disposal will be credited to the Government.
The list of identified unclaimed vehicles is available for inspection at the Office of the Deputy Collector and SDM-I, Margao.
