PANAJI: NSUI Goa President Naushad Chowdhari today demanded a complete ban on ABVP in Goa University for their disruptive behaviour and attacks during campus elections.
“It has been seen that certain members associated with ABVP engaged in disruptive and inappropriate behaviour, culminating in a regrettable attack on the Director of Students Welfare and threatened him and the students with the bamboo stick. I strongly believe that immediate action is necessary to uphold the principles of a safe and respectful academic,” said Chowdhari.
He further said that the incident, as reported by several witnesses and corroborated by available evidence in the media, involved the engagement of ABVP members in disruptive activities that hindered the smooth proceedings of the scrutiny process.
“The escalation to physical violence, leading to the attack on the Director of Students Welfare, is a serious violation of our university’s values and regulations. Such behaviour not only undermines the democratic process of campus collection but also threatens the well-being and safety of all members of our academic community,” he added.
The NSUI State President said that the government has given lacks as a fund to ABVP which they use this fund to create ruckus and goondagardi during college elections.
“Do not conduct elections unit strict action against ABVP is taken and Amendment of Rule: 0 regarding Formation of Campus Students Union with all the rules and regulations is anded Kindly avoid declaring elections before emailing rules as it will create furthers problems in the process of elections,” he added.
The NSUI state president also demanded that ABVP in campus and participate in any election process of Goa University for attacking DSW and creating a ruckus during elections.
