PONDA: Banastari Market, which had temporarily suspended its operation from April 27, would resume its operations from September 1, the Panchayat has informed.
Sarpanch Sunil Zalmi and Panchmember Shailesh Naik, addressing media, said the famous Chaturthi Matoli Bazaar will start from 7 September and continue till 10 September by following Covid guidelines.
Sunil further said since the work on the new Banstari Market is progressing, the Banastari Market is temporarily functioning in the area behind Maruti Temple. The special Matoli Bazaar would be temporarily held near Maruti Temple Banastari.
He further said Banastari Matoli Bazaar is famous all over Goa.
He said last year, sopo tax was not charged on account of a pandemic. However, this year, Panchayat will take a decision on solo issues only after the body meeting.
