PANAJI: Congress leader Amit Palekar has raised questions over an alleged road rage incident involving the son of a BJP MLA from Tiswadi, alleging that a woman travelling with her two minor children and a 70-year-old person was attacked following a dispute over a vehicle blocking the road.
According to Palekar, the woman allegedly honked after a vehicle said to be linked to the BJP MLA’s son was parked in the middle of the road and obstructing traffic.
He alleged that the woman’s car was subsequently blocked and that the occupants were attacked with an iron rod.
Palekar questioned whether Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant would ensure action in the case and whether an FIR would be registered against the alleged accused despite his alleged political connection.
The Congress leader also questioned whether the police would act independently when the allegation involves the son of a sitting BJP MLA from Tiswadi.
The allegations have not been independently verified. It was not immediately clear whether an FIR had been registered or what action, if any, had been taken by the police.
