Residents of Vagator and Chapora led by Aam Aadmi Party today undertook an inspection of the water tank opposite Anjuna police station as they have not been receiving water for some time and they were surprised to note that the so called new water tank has not yet been inaugurated.
The tank though built about 10 years ago has been neglected so much that the pipes leading to it have developed huge cracks and holes besides being totally eroded at places and even the room attached to the tank is in a terrible condition.
AAP co-ordinator for Siolim Pujan Malvankar opined that the tank was not built for the benefit of the people but only for the politicians to receive their commission. “If the tank was constructed for the benefit of the people, this would not have been the state today,” he said.
The locals accompanying him were quite agitated and demanded immediate action in the matter in not only repairing the tank and inaugurating it immediately but also against the person who received the commission in the matter.
Umesh Kolwalkar, Mansi Naik, Balakrishna Malvankar along with Pramod and Fadte accompanied Pujan for the site inspection.
