PANAJI: The Special Investigations Team (SIT) probing the land-grabbing cases in Goa arrested Yashwant Sukhthankar, 48, of Borim, Ponda, for forging the documents.
The arrest was made based on a complaint of Matilda Leopoldina Coutinho, Naranpura, Ahmedabad and Eliterio Anthony Carvalho alias Antonio Eleuterio Jose Carvalho, Badem, Assagao Bardez, Goa.
The complainant said that prior to 11/06/2022 at TNK at Registrar Mapusa Bardez-Goa, accused persons, namely 1) Mrs Branca Cassiana Diniz alias Branca Rodrigues, 2) Mr. Royson Rodrigues and 3) Mr. Rahul Desai, the Mamlatdar Bardez Goa & Others, with their common intention prepared forged/fake property documents of survey No. 47/1, of Assagao Village, belonging to the complainants and further produced the same as genuine before concerned authorities to transfer the ownership rights, thereby cheated the complainant.
