VERNA: Burglars allegedly broke into a house at Velsao-Pale and decamped with cash and gold and silver ornaments collectively worth ₹7.45 lakh while the occupants were away.
According to a complaint lodged by Lalitabai Rathod, the theft occurred between 12.30 am on June 20 and 8.30 pm on June 23. Unknown accused allegedly entered the house, damaged the lock of a dressing table drawer and stole ₹5 lakh in cash along with several gold and silver ornaments.
The stolen valuables include a pair of gold earrings, a pair of gold ear chains, two gold finger rings, five small gold rings, a pair of gold-plated bangles, a pair of silver payals and a pair of silver ankle kadas.
Verna Police have registered a case against unknown persons, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar.
