PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today informed that cabinet has accorded approval to transfer of 14,661 sq mtr land from other departments such as WRD to PWD for construction of Mopa Express Highway.
Sawant said that state government has appointed Institute of Wood Science and Technology (IWST) to monitor the planting of 5 lakh trees around the Mopa International Airport Area.
“Cabinet has also approved the transfer of 14,661 sq mtr land from other departments such as WRD to PWD for construction of Mopa Express Highway,” said Sawant
He further said that trees will be planted to compensate for the trees that have been cut for the Airport Project and for this Institute of Wood Science and Technology(IWST) has been appointed by Goa government to monitor the planting of 5 lakh trees around the Mopa.
IWST is a Research institute which works under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India.
Meanwhile, CM said that government does not have any immediate plans of of restarting schools in the state.
