The entire Narcotics Control Bureau team, which raided and arrested a Calangute native for alleged involvement in supply of illegally imported curated narcotic drug marijuana (bud).
Sources said that the accused F Ahmed, who was arrested on Tuesday night, was found to be COVID19 positive.
“The accused is in hospital while the entire NCB team is in isolation,” officials informed.
The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested a Calangute resident who works in a prominent resort as driver for his alleged involvement in supply of illegally imported curated narcotic drug marijuana (bud).
Sources told goemkarponn.com that the raid is in relation to the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakrobarty drug-nexus case.
NCB had registered a case of drug abuse in SSR case and also questioned Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya.
Sources also revealed that the driver works for one of the member of Calangute village panchayt. The shack and restaurant of the panch member’s husband was raided this morning by NCB.
NCB has conducted an intensive operation against the illegal import of curated marijuana (bud), which is primarily sourced from USA and Canada and has huge market demand in Mumbai.
In all, 3.5 Kg of bud has been seized from foreign post offices based on the specific inputs. NCB operations in Mumbai had found the links with Goa and one person namely F. Ahmed r/o Calangute, Goa was intercepted.
It has further been learnt that F. Ahmed was supplying the bud to some prominent receiver at Bangalore, who has linkages with Page 3 celebrities.
The sourcing of the bud is primarily through the Darknet, which gives the layers of the anonymity to the buyers and sellers. The economic transactions in these types of international drug trafficking is based on the cryptocurrency dealings stated a NCB release.
The 3.5 Kg of bud worth around Rs 1.7 crore was seized in Delhi and Mumbai. The seizure made in Delhi was destined for Mumbai. The seizure made in Mumbai was sourced from Canada and destined for Goa stated NCB release.
