Calangute: The Calangute Panchayat has approved its annual budget of ₹32,97,73,211 for the financial year 2026–27, outlining key priorities across essential sectors while maintaining fiscal discipline.
Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira stated that no new taxes have been imposed in the budget, underlining the Panchayat’s intent to avoid additional financial burden on residents.
He said the budget focuses on critical areas such as education, sanitation, garbage management, developmental works, and welfare schemes aimed at improving the quality of life in the village.
Describing it as a “realistic budget,” Sequeira emphasised that the Panchayat is committed to ensuring balanced development while maintaining financial stability.
