CALANGUTE: Calangute Traffic Police conducted a special enforcement drive against illegally rented private four-wheeler vehicles operating with white registration plates and seized five vehicles during the operation.
The action was carried out in the presence of members of the Rent-a-Cab Association, who accompanied authorities during the inspection drive aimed at curbing unauthorized commercial transport activities in the tourist belt.
Meanwhile, Calangute Police have continued their nakabandi operations at various locations across the town to strengthen traffic enforcement and maintain road safety.
Police officials said strict action is also being taken against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol, with regular checks being conducted as part of ongoing efforts to curb drunken driving and prevent road accidents.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ensuring compliance with transport regulations and have warned that similar enforcement drives will continue in the coming days.
