CANACONA: The Canacona Block Congress Committee formally installed its new office bearers during a ceremony held at the Shristhal Panchayat Hall on Monday.
Newly appointed Block President Gaspar Joseph Coutinho assumed charge along with other office bearers, including Siddharth Gayak (Convener, Canacona Block Congress Committee), Remy Dias (President, Block Minority Cell), Rosario Fernandes (Convener, Block Minority Cell), Vaishal Pagi (President, Fishermen Cell), Kiran Zore (President, Dangar Cell), Dayanand Faldesai (Convener, Kisan Shakti Committee), and Effon Coutinho (President, Social Media Cell).
The induction ceremony was attended by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar, Kushavati District Congress Committee President Rajesh Verenkar, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress President Adv. Archit Shantaram Naik, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress and NSUI In-charge Janardhan Bhandari, Goa Pradesh Seva Dal President Rajen Ghate, Goa Pradesh OBC Department President Sharad Chopdekar, members of the Goa Pradesh Congress Minority Department, senior Congress leaders, office bearers, party workers, and local leaders from Canacona.
Prominent Congress leader and Canacona Assembly ticket aspirant Chetan M. Desai was also present at the event. Among others in attendance were Pravir Bhandari, Shiva Deshmukh, women leaders Urushila Costa and Nelzica Carvalho, youth leaders Vaishnav Pednekar, Pralay Bhagat, Manesh Naik Gaonkar, Navadeep Faldesai, and student leaders Harsh Desai and Sunil Gaonkar.
Addressing the gathering, GPCC President Girish Chodankar and other state leaders congratulated the newly appointed team and stressed the need to strengthen the Congress organisation at the grassroots level. They urged the office bearers to remain connected with the people, effectively raise local issues, and uphold the values and ideology of the Indian National Congress.
