CANACONA: Lions Club of Canacona and Leo Club of Canacona released their souvenir KANVAPUR highlighting all information about Canacona.
Souvenir “Kanvapur”, highlights the information of Canacona taluka, in respect of its geographical, cultural and environmental status. It contains the information of the sons of the soil, the Doctors, the Engineers, Advocates, Artists, amongst various others who made a name for themselves and Canacona taluka amongst other information. It also emphasises the map of Canacona showing the existing temples, institutions and much more, informed Canacona Lions Club president Gourish Vernekar.
The Souvenir was released on 20th June 2024 at the Office of All India Konkani Parishad at Margao at the hands of Lions International District Treasurer MJF Lion Satpal Chorge.
On this occasion RC Sneha Chorge, Region chairperson PMJF Joquim Gonsalves, Zone Chairperson Líon Yogita Vernekar, senior Lion MJF Lion Arun Bhat along with President of the Club Lion Gaurish Vernekar and Secretary Lion Pavan Rangnekar were present. President Lion Gourish Chief Editor of the Souvenir expressed his views on this publication and stated it was long overdue that the dream of the senior Lion, has been fulfilled by publishing the much-awaited souvenir.
District Treasurer MJF Lion Satpal Chorge congratulated the club for this valuable work. Zone Chairperson and Canacona Club member Lion Yogita Vernekar compered, while the function ended with a vote of thanks by club secretary Lion Pavan Rangnekar.
