CANACONA: Stating BJP has bagged only 30% of polled votes in last assembly elections, I..N.D.I. Alliance will strive to garner every votes polled by the entire opposition candidates for Congress candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes in the upcoming lok sabha elections.
I.N.D.I Alliance will hold its first Public meeting in Canacona on Wednesday, 24th April at 5 pm at old Bus-Stand Chaudi.
The I.N.D.I.A Alliance partners including Congress, Goa Forward, AAP & TMC came together in a meeting held at Shristhal Canacona in Friday evening and vowed to fight this battle together and with more vigor and garner all the anti-BJP votes and help win Congress candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes with biggest margin.
‘ Canacona assembly segment will play a stellar role to garner the over 30,000 against BJPs 10,000 votes to give an unassailable lead to I.N.D.I.Alliance.’, informed I.N.D.I.A spokesperson Vikas Bhagat.
Addressing media soon after the meeting, Goa Forward General Secretary Prashant Naik, Vikas Bhagat, Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari, AAP leader Sandesh Telekar, Canacona Congress Block president Abel Tome Fernandes, Congress leader Gaspar Coutinho, local leader Rajendra Desai, informed the Alliance has already approached the leaders and have presently launched the House-House contacts with all the voters, particularly who have voted against BJP and hold allegiance with the last assembly candidates. ‘We are all together now, and have already approached every 50 polling booths, and our leaders and we are contacting voters wherein, and working towards an unprecedented goal. Our efforts are to contact everyine and convince how damaging it would be if we vote for the party running present government. No, we will not say the quantum of lead we are giving to Capt Viriato Fernandes, but certainly working to give more votes than what BJP candidate will get, and this will be a first time in Canacona, as in previous lok Sabha elections inspite of Congress wins, the saffron party used to get more votes in Canacona assembly segment’, Prashant Naik.
Bhandari responding queries said, rumors were and even now are being floated, but we as congressmen are strong together and will not leave any stone unturned for the success of Congress and INDIA candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes ‘.
Sandesh Telekar appealing to the electorate to come together to defeat the divisive forces said, this time around BJPs divisive policies will not succeed and this is right time to show such people that their tactics won’t succeed ‘.
